Aug 31, 2026 Job Description 1.Possesses knowledge of developmental psychology and principles of behavior. 2.Administers, scores and interprets individual and group measures of human function verbally and in writing. 3.Possesses knowledge of theories of counseling and psychotherapy. 4.Assesses cognitive, academic, and behavioral aspects of students' function in school. 5.Identifies students' strengths and weaknesses and designs appropriate remedial and intervention strategies. 6.Participates in team meetings and provides input on educational plans for students. 7.Counsels individual students, groups of students, and family members as appropriate to promote successful school performance. 8.Reports and interprets results of case and group studies clearly and effectively. 9.Participates in the development of 504 Plans and IEPs. 10.Serves as an active and contributing member of pre-referral and intervention. 11.Communicates clearly, appropriately and understandably with students, teachers, administrators and parents. 12.Demonstrates the ability to be equitable, sensitive and responsive to students, families, teachers and administrators. 13.Serves as a liaison between the school and the home and community in promoting student well-being. 14.Remains current in the field of school psychology through professional development activities. 15.Provides input to school administration regarding the maintenance of a positive school climate, as well as staff and student needs and concerns. 16.Participates as requested in the development of staff development programs to maintain and improve positive school climate. 17.Understands and conforms to professional and ethical standards for a school psychologist.Position Type:
