Interpret assessment findings to school personnel, other concerned professionals, parents, and when appropriate students aged 14- older. Put interpretations into written reports prior to team meetings.
Make recommendations on ways to assist students in the classroom upon teacher request.
Support the process of evaluation of students Provide file review and summary for evaluations (initial and triennial).Complete and summarize observations of students.
Facilitate parent participation in meetings.
Collaborate/participate with procedures for discipline of special needs students.
Attend/Participate in Manifestation Determination meetings.
Monitor and facilitate provision of free and appropriate public education for identified students.
Facilitate communication.
Attend scheduled special education district-wide meetings, psychologist team chair meetings.
Collaborate with building administration regarding the provision of special education functions.
Provide liaison support between the central special education office and individual schools.
Facilitate and monitor compliance with state and federal mandates as well as local processes and procedures.
Provide documentation to and participate in due process proceedings.
Maintain knowledge of state and federal law as well as adhere to LEA procedures, processes and policies.
Utilize the existing IEP/504 platform to assure appropriate documentation of services.
Perform all other duties as deemed necessary & assigned by the Superintendent of Schools and Director of Special Education.
Position is an 8 hour work day and comes with a 5% Salary differential
Full Job Description General Description:
Facilitate and monitor the evaluation process of Randolph Public School students, while providing diagnostic and consultative services, including psychometric assessment in cognitive and achievement areas. The School Psychologist/Team Facilitator will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to IDEA 2004.Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments of students referred for an initial evaluation or reevaluation. Assessments may include psychological, achievement, and others deemed necessary for learning disabilities.Interpret assessment findings to school personnel, other concerned professionals, parents, and when appropriate students aged 14- older.
