BCBA. ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE
The BCBA will work collaboratively with the District-Wide Autism Department Head, and/or Specialist, Principal, special and regular education teachers and support staff to ensure that the delivery of IEP services are being provided with fidelity in accordance to the student's individualized education program. The BCBA will also provide direct supervision, training and support to ABA paraprofessionals to help support students with autism and other related emotional/developmental disabilities. Services will be based on the principles of applied behavior analysis including the modification of environmental variables, behavior reduction procedures, systematic instruction (e.g., discrete trial teaching, incidental instruction) to teach new and/or adaptive skills, and the maintenance and generalization of skills. The BCBA will work to create programs and transition procedures to ensure that students with Autism and other emotional/developmental disabilities receive instruction in the least restrictive setting.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
(to be included along with other responsibilities) 1. Coordinate ABA and behavioral social emotional services for students with Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, Emotional and other related developmental disabilities 2. Supervise direct ABA paraprofessionals on a weekly basis 3. Supervise intensive and comprehensive behavioral programs 4. Provide ongoing training and professional development in the area of applied behavior analysis 5. Provide training, support, and consultation with families/caregivers of students on a caseload 6. Provide ongoing consultation with teams (e.g., teachers, itinerants, specialists, administration) 7. Develop and monitor the implementation of systematic instructional ABA and behavioral intervention programs for students 8. Complete, or supervise ABA paraprofessionals completion of, formal assessments (e.g., ABLLS-R) to assist in the development of educational programs 9. Conduct functional behavioral assessments and develop behavior support plans 10. Ensure ongoing data collection and monitoring of data to develop and/or recommend program changes 11. Complete monthly clinical reviews with team members (e.g., classroom teachers, parents) 12. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Masters Degree 2. BCBA Board Certification and/or LABA Board Certification 3. Five years of successful experience providing clinical services and/or special education teaching experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders/ social emotional and developmental disabilities in a school setting 4. CPI Certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Massachusetts teacher's certification in special education 2. Supervisory experience 3. Strong computer literacy abilities. 4. Working knowledge of special education regulations and process 5. Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs 6. Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese or an African Language. 7. Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition 8. Full ELL Category training
SALARY:
Salary scale shown is based on the candidate holding a Bachelor's Degree. Potential to increase based on degree level.
