The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and students to promote mental health, enhance learning, and support the overall well-being of our students. This full-time position requires a strong commitment to fostering a positive school environment and implementing effective strategies to address the diverse needs of young learners. Responsibilities Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, emotional, and social development. Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and interventions for students with special needs. Provide counseling and support services to students experiencing academic, behavioral, or emotional challenges. Facilitate crisis intervention and conflict resolution strategies to assist students in distress. Conduct workshops and training sessions for teachers, staff, and parents on topics related to mental health, child development, and effective teaching strategies. Monitor and assess the progress of students receiving interventions and adjust strategies as needed. Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and outside mental health resources to ensure comprehensive support for students. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student needs and coordinate services. Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and student progress. Stay informed about current research and best practices in school psychology and special education. Requirements Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field. Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist. Extensive experience as a School Psychologist working with elementary-aged children required. Strong understanding of child development, educational psychology, and special education laws. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in assessment tools and data analysis related to student performance and behavior. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in the field. Travel Requirements Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Work Schedule Standard teacher work schedule as set forth in the Teachers' Unit Contract.
