Description:
The district is seeking a dynamic and dedicated school psychologist to join the Child Study Team at Ramapo High School. The ideal candidate will hold a valid New Jersey School Psychologist Certificate, with strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and Child Study Team procedures.
Reports to:
Director of Special Education, District Supervisor of Special Education, Principal or designee
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a case manager for students with disabilities, coordinating the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs Provide consultative support to classroom teachers, administrators, and parents on instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications Plan, provide, and implement psychological services for students with disabilities which interfere with school adjustment and learning. Collaborate with other Child Study Team members (LDTC, Social Worker, Speech Therapist, etc.) during evaluations, eligibility determinations, and IEP meetings Assist in identification of students with disabilities and provide continuous support. Provide counseling, psychological services, and crisis intervention to high school students. Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments and collaborate on IEP development. Support the Child Study Team in ensuring compliance with special education regulations. Provide crisis intervention and counseling as required by IEPs. Perform other duties within the scope of employment and certification
Qualifications:
Holds or is eligible for New Jersey certification as a School Psychologist. Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEPs, and Child Study Team procedures. Experience working with high school students, preferred. Excellent communication, counseling, and crisis intervention skills. Ability to pass required background checks.
Compensation :
Salary will be in accordance with the current RIHEA Agreement, within a range of $61,665 and $110,439, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
