Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type All Job Types Step into a dynamic role supporting students' mental health and well-being during the Extended School Year (ESY) session. Work alongside a dedicated team from June 29 through July 23, providing vital psychological and psychiatric services in a school setting close to Jersey City, NJ. This opportunity is perfect for individuals passionate about making a meaningful difference during the summer months.
Desired Background and Skills:
Valid credentials as a School Psychologist (or Public Health Psychologist, RN - Psychiatric background also considered) Experience working within educational or youth settings, preferably schools Strong understanding of psychological assessment, intervention, and counseling techniques Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and administrators Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student needs during condensed summer timelines
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support and counseling to students participating in the ESY program Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results as part of students' individualized education plans Collaborate with educators and related service providers to develop and implement behavioral and academic interventions Offer crisis intervention and support as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students Participate in meetings, contribute to team planning efforts, and document all services provided in line with regulatory and district guidelines Communicate proactively with families, advocating for students' mental health needs
