Job Description

Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Psychologist Permit for Outpatient Newark within Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. The primary purpose of the Psychologist position is to, under the direction of the Program Director; provide therapeutic interventions for the psychological and social needs of individuals served. The psychologist will provide psychological testing as required by the program to increase our understanding of the issues experienced by the individuals we serve. Supports the integration of evidence based practices and provide therapeutic interventions based upon the principles of wellness and recovery. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Provides person centered direct care services to individuals with Best Practices Interventions. Works in accordance with established policies and procedures as observed by the supervisor. Formulates assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, progress notes, and termination/discharge summaries as observed by supervisory observation and periodic review. Participates meaningfully in supervision/consultation, in-service training, and multidisciplinary treatment conferences. Meets annual requirements. Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

NJ Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Extensive sitting, standing, talking, listening, reading, and walking. Lifting requirements vary based on program. Moderate noise. Subject to unpredictable situations and both medical and psychiatric crises. Possible exposure to individuals exhibiting assaultive behaviors. Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens that require use of personal protective equipment. May be exposed to varying and extreme temperatures. Individuals in community programs may be exposed to varied community environments.
