Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced School Psychologist to provide essential support during a leave coverage for a local middle school. This full-time, contract assignment runs from September 1, 2026, through December 23, 2026, with working hours from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This role includes collaborating as a valued member of the Child Study Team and working closely with approximately 40 students in grades 6-8. This position offers a competitive hourly range between $50 and $55, allowing you to make a meaningful difference while being rewarded for your expertise.
Desired Qualifications:
Current, valid New Jersey School Psychologist certification (required) Previous experience working with students in grades 6-8 preferred Strong background in conducting educational evaluations and writing related reports Collaborative approach with the ability to partner effectively with educators, support staff, and families Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
Responsibilities:
Conduct psychoeducational assessments and participate in eligibility determinations for special education services Provide expertise and recommendations as an active member of the Child Study Team Support student mental health and well-being through consultation, intervention, and crisis support as needed Develop comprehensive reports, set goals, and attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and family members to promote student success Maintain clear, thorough documentation in compliance with district and legal guidelines This assignment is perfect for dedicated School Psychologists seeking a rewarding, short-term contract in a supportive environment.
