Working primarily on-site at our Albuquerque, NM facility, the Psychometrist is responsible for the standardized administration, scoring, and behavioral observation of psychological and neuropsychological test batteries. The role operates entirely within the scope of technician-level practice — results interpretation and clinical diagnosis remain the exclusive responsibility of the supervising psychologist. This is a full-time W2 position with a hybrid schedule: approximately 70% of work is performed in the clinic (on-site test administration, patient coordination, supervision meetings) and 30% is performed remotely (administrative tasks, test scoring review, documentation, and data entry). The flex remote component is a benefit of this role, not a routine daily arrangement. Billing for technician-administered testing services is conducted under CPT codes 96138 (first 30 minutes of technician administration) and 96139 (each additional 30 minutes). A minimum of two tests per session is required to meet billing thresholds. CPT billing codes 96138/96139 apply to this role Key Responsibilities The Psychometrist will be expected to perform the following duties with accuracy, professionalism, and strict adherence to standardized procedures: 1. Administer standardized psychological and neuropsychological test batteries following publisher-specified protocols. Typical patient episodes involve a minimum of six (6) distinct test instruments per evaluation. 2. Score all administered tests using standardized normative methods; transcribe results accurately to data summary sheets for review by the supervising psychologist. 3. Record detailed behavioral observations throughout each testing session, including patient demeanor, engagement level, response patterns, attention, effort, and any irregularities that may affect test validity. 4. Coordinate patient scheduling and testing room availability in collaboration with the supervising psychologist to ensure efficient clinic workflow and appropriate session sequencing. 5. Maintain all test materials, protocols, stimulus books, response booklets, and testing room equipment in proper condition; report damaged or depleted materials promptly. 6. Verify patient identity and ensure informed consent processes are completed prior to the initiation of any testing session, in compliance with applicable privacy and clinical standards. 7. Assist with documentation and data entry in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, including logging behavioral observations, session notes, and test completion status. 8. Utilize designated flex remote days for administrative tasks including test scoring review, data summary preparation, EHR documentation, and correspondence as directed by the supervising psychologist. 9. Attend weekly supervision meetings with the supervising psychologist (in-person or via approved virtual platform) to review caseload, discuss testing observations, and receive clinical direction. 10. Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient health information in accordance with HIPAA and applicable state regulations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Behavioral Science, Neuroscience, or a closely related field from an accredited institution Demonstrated ability to follow standardized test administration procedures with precision and consistency Strong written communication skills for behavioral observation documentation Proficiency with standard office and EHR software; ability to learn clinical documentation platforms Ability to interact professionally and sensitively with diverse patient populations across age groups and clinical presentations Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check prior to hire (required for healthcare and correctional-adjacent settings) Reliable transportation and ability to report to the Berea, OH office per the 70% on-site schedule requirement Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related graduate discipline NAP (National Association of Psychometrists) certification, or active enrollment in the certification pathway Completion of or progress toward 3,000 supervised testing hours required for NAP certification eligibility3 Prior experience administering standardized psychological or neuropsychological instruments (e.g., WAIS, WMS, MMPI, RBANS, Trail Making Test, CVLT) Familiarity with CPT billing codes for psychological testing (96130-96146 series) and associated documentation requirements Experience working in a licensed mental health, neuropsychology, or healthcare facility Bilingual skills (Spanish/English or other languages) a plus given patient population served Work Schedule & Hybrid Arrangement This position operates on standard business hours with some scheduling flexibility to accommodate patient testing appointments. On-Site (70%): Test administration sessions, patient intake coordination, supervision meetings, and material management are conducted at the Berea, OH clinic. Flex Remote (30%): Administrative work including test scoring review, data summary preparation, EHR documentation, and training may be performed remotely on designated days. Hybrid schedule is structured in advance and coordinated with the supervising psychologist; remote days are not guaranteed to be the same days each week. Occasional schedule adjustments may be required to accommodate extended testing sessions or clinical volume.
