Job Description:
SUNY Schenectady invites applications for a full-time Psychology Instructor to join a collaborative, student-centered academic community. We seek an educator who is passionate about teaching, committed to student success, and excited to work with students in a community college setting. The successful candidate will teach a 15-credit course load per semester and contribute to a department that values innovative pedagogy, professional growth, and effective teaching practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach undergraduate psychology courses in a variety of formats, including in-person and online Foster an engaging, supportive learning environment that promotes student success Hold regular office hours and provide academic guidance to students Participate in departmental and college service, including assessment and committee work Engage in ongoing professional development related to teaching and learning Contribute to a collegial and supportive academic community
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Psychology from an accredited institution Teaching experience in higher education or a closely related instructional or training setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with online or technology-enhanced instruction Teaching experience in a community college setting Doctoral degree in Psychology or a related field
Special Information:
Employment commences on August 17, 2026 VISA sponsorship is not available for this position Offers of employment will be conditional based on the successful completion of a background check and verification of official college transcripts
