Job Description

Arise Wellness Psychology, a growing psychology private practice in Williston Park, NY, is looking to hire a postdoctoral fellow in psychology (PhD or PsyD) and/or a social worker, mental health counselor or marriage and family therapist who is accruing supervised hours for licensure (limited permit). About Us We are a busy private practice providing personalized, research-supported clinical services for children, adults, and families with a range of social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. We emphasize providing comprehensive evidence-based treatment to our clients, while utilizing technology to make our work easier. We prioritize the well-being of our team members, emphasizing a healthy work-life balance. Position Clinical responsibilities include providing individual therapy to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families utilizing evidence-supported therapies, including but not limited to CBT and DBT. Opportunities to lead and co-lead groups may also be possible. The fellow will receive close supervision from a licensed psychologist and will have the opportunity to focus on and develop expertise in areas of clinical interest. The ideal candidate for this position is a vibrant and dynamic clinician, eager to hone their clinical skills and committed to using evidence-based treatment techniques. The candidate is excited to be a key member of the team, receive hands-on supervision, develop their clinical niche during the fellowship. Previous experience with CBT and DBT is preferred, but not required. Previous experience providing therapy to children and couples is a plus. The ideal candidate is one who is looking to grow with the practice and move up to a senior role within the practice post-licensure. Benefits The position includes competitive compensation as a W-2 employee. The candidate must have completed all requirements for their degree (psychology, social work, mental health counseling or marriage and family therapy) and are currently focused on accruing supervised hours for licensure. Ample administrative support will be provided; all scheduling and billing will be handled by staff, leaving the candidate with minimal paperwork to complete in order to focus primarily on clinical work. Flexible hours provided, with the opportunity to work either part-time or full-time in order to build a schedule that works for the clinician's needs. However, 1-2 evening and/or weekend days are expected. Medical benefits provided to full-time clinicians following a probationary period. Clinical services are currently being conducted via telehealth and in-person. There is opportunity to join our team on a more permanent basis after completion of licensure requirements.
