Job Description

Key Responsibilities 1.
  • Assessment and Diagnosis
  • : 2. Conduct comprehensive psychological and academic assessments to identify learning, behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges. 3.
  • Intervention and Support
  • : 4. Provide evidence-based interventions and support to address students' individual needs and developmental or mental health issues. 5.
  • Consultation
  • : 6. Serve as a consultant to parents, teachers, and school staff, providing expertise on mental health, behavioral, and instructional issues. 7.
  • Collaboration
  • : 8. Work with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers and administrators, to develop strategies that support students' progress and well-being. 9.
  • Advocacy
  • : 10. Advocate for students' overall well-being, ensuring they receive appropriate services and support to succeed academically and personally. 11.
  • Data Interpretation
  • : 12. Collect and interpret student and classroom data to inform instructional decisions and monitor the effectiveness of interventions. 13.
  • Special Education
  • : 14.
Determine special education needs and help determine eligibility for additional services. Examples of Tasks 1. Interviewing students, parents, and teachers. 2. Administering and scoring psychological and academic tests. 3. Developing and implementing individual and group interventions. 4. Providing guidance and counseling services to students facing personal or academic difficulties. 5. Designing and recommending strategies to improve student learning and behavior. 6. Participating in school-wide initiatives to promote positive mental health.
