Psychotherapy Full Job Description Overview:

Responsibilities:
The Psychologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats emotional, cognitive, and behavioral problems or disorders affecting child, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients (depending upon population served by specific position). Services are provided for patients whose psychological disturbance is the primary problem as well as for patients whose psychological disturbance is secondary to or adversely affecting the management of a primary medical problem. Such patients are typically referred by their primary care provider based upon diagnoses for which the provider feels psychological treatment will improve primary medical problems. Participates as a member of the treatment team by providing guidance to other members of the team regarding management of patients' emotional, behavioral, cognitive and family-systems problems, while following established departmental, program and professional standards. Performs psychological assessment and testing as needed to diagnose and plan treatment, and to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment.
Qualifications:
Education:
PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
Experience:
Minimum two years post-doctoral inpatient and/or outpatient psychological services experience required.
Skills:
Demonstrated competencies in assessment and treatment of emotional, cognitive and behavioral disorders in child, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients (depending upon population served by specific position). Demonstrated competency in assessment and treatment of cognitive and psychological problems secondary to, associated with, and/or exacerbating medical conditions.
Licensure:
Current licensure as a psychologist by the applicable State Board of Psychologist Examiners. Must be eligible for membership in the hospital medical staff. Sorry, no J1 or H-1B visa opportunities. For additional information, please contact Erin Pendergraft at .
