Job Description

The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth has exciting summer employment opportunities for enthusiastic and knowledgeable Psychology Instructors in our summer programs for academically advanced students in 5th - 12th grade. As a CTY instructor, you lead a small class of academically advanced students through a rigorous and interactive three-week course with the support of a teaching assistant. Opportunities are available for three or six weeks of employment. Positions are available at Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA. Responsibilities Supervise and engage children in various camp activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment. Implement lesson plans that incorporate educational elements, including math concepts, while promoting teamwork and creativity. Manage classroom behavior and provide support to children with special needs. Administer first aid when necessary and maintain a safe environment. Foster positive relationships with campers and their families through effective communication and support. Desired Qualifications Have at least 2 years of independent teaching experience Have a background in psychology, behavioral science, social science, education, or related fields Enjoy working with academically advanced middle and high school students Can facilitate discussion-driven and analytical classroom environments Are passionate about helping students explore complex ideas and research Terms of Employment Starting salary for each three-session ranges from $4,000 to $5,000 depending upon years of experience and education.
