Job Description:

The Department of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a part-time clinical supervisor within the Clinical Psychology Center with a start date of July 1, 2026. This position entails leading weekly 3-hour group supervision meetings with clinical psychology doctoral students who are providing individual psychotherapy to adults who struggle with both pain-related physical ailments and emotional difficulties. Clinical supervisors provide teaching and supervision utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) frameworks during group supervision meetings, as well as additional consultation and report-writing feedback with students on an as-needed basis. Minimum qualifications include having a PhD in Clinical Psychology, an active license to practice as a psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania, previous training, and at least 8 years' experience providing empirically-supported treatments (such as CBT or ACT) to pain populations, and at least 5 years of experience providing clinical supervision and training in IPT. Candidates with a research background, and those with training and experience that demonstrate a multicultural orientation to clinical practice and treating individuals from diverse backgrounds, are particularly encouraged to apply.
