Job Description

Child Psychologist (PhD/PsyD) $120,000-$220,000 Cambridge Psychology Group (CPG; www.cambridgepsych.org) is expanding our Child Division, and we are currently looking to add a child psychologist to work in our newly renovated 13-office suite in Arlington, MA. We are a multi-specialty center providing evidence-based therapy, consultation, and training for children and adults, and the child psychologist position is perfect for someone with experience providing evidence-based therapy for several different diagnostic categories. We most commonly receive referrals for children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, OCD, depression, ADHD, PTSD, autism, borderline personality disorder, eating disorders, health-related conditions, sleep problems, among many other mental health conditions. Ideal applicants would have experience with CBT/ERP for anxiety and OCD and additional EBTs for children (e.g., ACT, DBT, DBT-C, Unified Protocol, Positive Psychology interventions, compassion-focused therapy, SPACE, parent management training, PCIT, TF-CBT, etc.). There is also the option to provide family therapy and parent coaching as desired. For the past three years, we have run a highly successful Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for adults with anxiety disorders and OCD. Currently, we are launching an IOP for children and adolescents with anxiety disorders or OCD, as well as a summer treatment camp for child and adolescent clients with OCD and anxiety. These programs include individual therapy sessions, exposure coaching, and group therapy. Our programs are also the primary training opportunity for graduate practicum students. We would prioritize applicants who are interested in being a clinician and supervisor in both of these Child and Adolescent programs. This is a great way to learn or deepen therapists' ERP skills while working and learning within a treatment team of kind, encouraging, collaborative therapists. CPG is a private pay practice that offers highly competitive salary and benefit packages with uncapped earnings. We also offer flexibility to our therapists in setting schedules. We are looking for a therapist who would like to work in the Arlington office for 3 days per week and work remotely for the rest of the week. Afternoon and evening hours are priorities because those are the times that children are most often available. Most of our therapists have trained at respected medical and academic institutions, such as McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and Mass General Brigham hospitals. We therefore can offer a unique opportunity for continued supervision, consultation, training, and community for individuals who join our team. We aim to be a teaching community, inspired by the training missions of the institutions with which we are affiliated. Practice Overview Our team at CPG currently includes over 25 providers. We have built a community of kind, dedicated, innovative therapists who want to work, learn, and grow together throughout their careers. Our approach is grounded in flexibly applying evidence-based treatment that leads to positive changes in our clients' lives. Many of our therapists have been active contributors to the research base supporting EBTs. We enjoy having a team with diverse strengths. Our aim is to support our staff in being the therapists they most want to be. Our ideal team members enjoy the freedom and autonomy of private practice but also want connection and collaboration with a community of colleagues. Our practice supports peer consultations, group case consultations, team-building events, mentorships, shared clinical resources, and in-house trainings. We are also an APA-approved provider of CE events. We also have opportunities for our therapists to grow into leadership roles. These could include starting therapy groups of your own, leading IOP programs, supervising trainees, engaging in outreach efforts and speaking engagements at the local and national level, leading CE events for the community, or expanding our practice into new services, client populations, or technologies. Below are more details about the psychologist position: Qualifications PhD or PsyD from an APA-accredited doctoral program in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology Completed an APA-accredited internship Licensed, license-eligible, or pursuing a license in Massachusetts Experience in providing evidence-based therapy to children and adolescents, ideally CBT/ERP Commitment to cultural humility, diversity, and inclusion Responsibilities Conduct evidence-based individual psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and their families Maintain licensure in Massachusetts Participate in staff/consultation team meetings and coordinate care with other colleagues as needed If you are interested, there also will be optional opportunities to: Lead, co-lead or create therapy groups of your own; Develop and lead an IOP program with support from directors; Offer paid presentations or trainings to the community; Create paid blog posts; Participate in continuing education trainings offered within the practice; Supervise and train graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and early career therapists Benefits Highly competitive compensation and benefit package with uncapped earnings ($120,000-$220,000 on average) Health, dental and vision insurance
