Job Description

THE POSITION
The Department of Corrections (DOC) is looking for a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections who is ready to make a strong impact at State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Pine Grove. This role lets you guide important psychological services that support inmate well-being and rehabilitation. You will lead a professional team and help shape programs that promote stability and progress. Step into a position where your expertise truly matters.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position oversees psychological services and supports the effective operation of psychological services programs within SCI Pine Grove. You will supervise staff, review evaluations, and help guide treatment plans and program development. As a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections, you will perform the following duties:
Staff Supervision:
Direct psychological staff in evaluations, screenings, counseling, and crisis response
Program Management:
Oversee the development and operation of psychological services programs, policies, and procedures
Committee Leadership:
Chair key institutional committees that support mental health and safety
Clinical Oversight:
Review interpretations of testing and behavior management status reports
Consultation Support:
Advise staff on mental health treatment needs and program development
Accreditation Compliance:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.
Special Requirements:
You must be in possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.
Other Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
