Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply. Psychologists at Kirby Forensic Psychiatric Center are part of an interdisciplinary treatment team and provide assessment and treatment to individuals with mental illness including:
  • Providing clinical leadership and program management
  • Conducting forensic or court-ordered assessments
  • Providing treatment and expert testimony
  • Providing individual, group, or family therapy and crisis intervention
  • Maintaining records and documentation Minimum QualificationsCandidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they are licensed and currently registered to practice Psychology in New York State.
OR Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. OR Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Licensed Psychologist eligible list. The posted salary of $145,413 includes a Geographic Pay Differential ($20,000), an Increased Hiring Rate ($25,077), and a Downstate Adjustment ($4,000), is based on full-time employment.
