Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Make an impact in education this upcoming school year by supporting students as a School Psychologist on a flexible, per-evaluation (PRN) contract basis. This opportunity spans from August 4th, 2026, through June 30th, 2027, with responsibilities focused on essential evaluations for students in accordance with district needs. As a valued contributor to the school team, you'll work closely with a skilled psychometrist who will handle the majority of assessments and guide you through the SPED Track IEP system if needed. You will evaluate eligibility—primarily for Autism and EMD classifications—across three buildings, all equipped with dedicated testing spaces. The caseload is manageable, with a minimum of 4-5 full assessments per year and anticipated re-evaluations for at least five students. This flexible, hybrid position allows you to conduct assessments onsite while completing your report writing from home. Participation in IEP meetings is preferred in person, though remote attendance may be possible when necessary. Compensation per evaluation reflects your experience, with rates between $200 and $250.
Qualified candidates will possess:
Current Mississippi Teaching Certification in School Psychology (must be in hand by evaluation start) Experience conducting assessments, eligibility determinations, and report writing for Autism and EMD Familiarity with the IEP process; training on SPED Track available Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including psychometrists and special education staff Strong organizational skills and attention to detail You will be responsible for: Conducting student evaluations and re-evaluations as assigned Completing comprehensive scoring and reporting of assessments Participating in IEP meetings, either in person or virtually If you're motivated to support student success while enjoying the autonomy of PRN assignments and hybrid work options, apply today and help shape positive educational outcomes for the new school year!
