Job Description
Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract position in the Washington, DC area as a School Psychologist, providing vital services to students across two schools just south of the city. This full-time opportunity, running from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027, offers a rich variety of responsibilities and the chance to make a significant impact on student success. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., ensuring a balanced workweek. Your expertise will be essential in conducting assessments, consultations, Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA), and developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP). You may occasionally collaborate with social workers to support counseling initiatives and may contribute to Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) processes. With Educational Diagnosticians on each campus, your focus will remain on behavioral and psychological assessment rather than academic achievement testing.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Virginia Department of Education certification Current Virginia Psychologist licensure School psychology experience (assessment, consultation, FBA/BIP, and MTSS support) Familiarity with the needs of students across elementary and secondary levels Ability to coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Willingness and availability to be fully onsite—this is not a remote or hybrid role Immediate eligibility to complete the VA Department of Social Services background check and provide TB test resultsResponsibilities:
