Working with children Working with individuals with mental health conditions Data collection Medical terminology Crisis intervention counseling Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Therapist to join our mental health and behavioral health team. The Therapist will provide comprehensive therapeutic services to diverse populations focused mainly on adults, and seniors. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions across various settings such as outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and via telehealth platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to improving patient well-being through innovative therapeutic approaches. Hours are flexible. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing
ICD-9, ICD-10
coding, and medical terminology. Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis. Provide individual, group, family, and crisis intervention counseling tailored to patients' needs. Manage cases involving trauma, PTSD care, grief counseling, addiction counseling, chronic pain management, and working with people with autism or developmental disabilities. Utilize research and data collection methods to monitor patient progress and inform treatment adjustments. Maintain accurate medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations and documentation standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, case managers, medical professionals, and special education staff. Engage in clinical research initiatives and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts. Deliver services through various modalities including telehealth and in-person sessions across outpatient and inpatient settings. Provide crisis management and behavior management support for patients experiencing acute mental health issues or behavioral challenges. Requirements Valid licensure or certification in mental health counseling or related fields (e.g., Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Psychologist). Proven experience with psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, addiction counseling, grief counseling, or art/dance therapy. Strong background in working with children & family counseling, pediatrics, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities including autism spectrum disorder. Experience with crisis intervention strategies and managing complex cases involving PTSD or chronic pain. Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), medical documentation standards, HIPAA compliance, and medical terminology. Telehealth experience is preferred; ability to adapt to various clinical settings including outpatient clinics or inpatient facilities. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to patient-centered care.
