Job Summary The Sports Psychology LPC serves as a primary resource for the development and delivery of a mental performance program designed to improve the mental skills of athletes and/or other groups looking to enhance their performance. This person will also be responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating such educational activities within the system and measuring their efficacy. In addition, this position will perform and provide clinical assessments and treatments for those with clinical mental health diagnoses. Job Description Essential Functions:
Develop a mental performance program as well as skills training materials. Deliver programs to athletes, coaches, parents and or other groups. Develop and ongoingly monitor and track outcomes for the program. Coordinate the PI/Quality program, to include identification of quality metrics as well as ongoing monitoring, modifying and data collection around these metrics. Identifying opportunities to improve clinical quality and to initiate strategies to improve care, this includes leading projects around such improvements. Coordinate/Complete any required documentation for the program in order to meet regulatory, efficiency and payment/authorization requirements. Coordinate clinical education activities designed to augment clinical quality programs and or initiatives. Work with departmental leadership and the quality team to report and refine the program, perform audits, collate data, and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies. Develop and implement treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments. Demonstrate effective collaboration with community and other services while maintaining patient rights. All other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements Required:
Education
  • Masters degree in Social Sciences, Social Services, or Psychology Certifications
  • Licensed Professional Counselor License
  • South Dakota Department of Social Services Certifications/Licensures Preferred:
    Certifications
  • Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) Experience
  • 1+ years Sports Medicine Experience; 1+ years Psychiatric Services Experience; 1+ years
Behavior Health Experience Physical Requirements:
Light work
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
