Job Description:
The Licensed Psychologist is responsible for delivering professional mental health care services to inmates/residents within the facility. Key duties include conducting psychological screenings and assessments through clinical interviews and review of available records, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary mental health team—including psychiatrists, nurses, physicians, social workers, and security staff—to coordinate patient care effectively. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and adjusting individualized treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations; performing regular rounds in segregation and confined housing areas to assess inmate adjustment and mental health needs; providing psychological counseling and crisis interventions; and demonstrating expertise in psychological counseling techniques suitable for varied inmate populations. The successful candidate will perform all functions swiftly and efficiently, ensuring comprehensive, compassionate mental health care that meets the needs of inmates in a correctional setting. They must be at least board eligible to qualify for privileges and possess required documentation including license verification, BLS certification, and board eligibility details.
