Until FilledPrimary PurposeUnder the supervision of a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology who meets the Texas State Board of Psychologist's supervisor requirements, the LSSP Intern will:

Perform professional psychological work in assessment, behavior management, and counseling for students with emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and behavioral problems under the supervision and guidance of the Licensed Specialist in School Psychology.

Assess the psychological and psycho-educational needs of students referred to special education services.

QualificationsEducation/Certification Trainee Status Letter issued by the Texas State Board of Examiners of PsychologistsSpecial Knowledge/SkillsKnowledge of procedures for assessing achievement and intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning for educational purposesKnowledge of prevention and intervention strategies, including behavior management interventionsKnowledge of psycho-social developmentExcellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsExperienceCurrently enrolled in an internship, practicum or other site-based training in a school psychology program in a regionally accredited institution of higher educationView Full Job Description Friend Version
