Job Description

Metropolitan Psychological Services (MPS), PLLC is a thriving multidisciplinary private practice with 2 Northern Virginia metro-accessible locations. We are dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based psychological services across the lifespan. Our team consists of warm, collaborative doctoral-level clinicians who value clinical excellence, lifelong learning, inclusivity, and meaningful connection with both clients and colleagues. We are currently seeking a Licensed Clinical Psychologist or Pre-Licensed Clinical Psychologist (Postdoctoral Resident) with a strong interest in working with adults and couples to join our growing team. Position Overview This position is ideal for a psychologist who enjoys autonomy, flexibility, and professional growth while practicing within a supportive and collegial environment. Clinicians will provide psychotherapy services to adults and couples using evidence-based and integrative approaches tailored to each client's unique needs. Clinicians may maintain a part-time caseload (minimum of 8 clinical hours per week) or develop toward a full-time caseload of approximately 25 client sessions per week. QualificationsRequired Ph.D. or Psy.

D. in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or related field Licensed Psychologist or license-eligible Postdoctoral Resident in Virginia Minimum of four (4) years of relevant clinical experience, including doctoral training Experience providing psychotherapy to adults Strong clinical, diagnostic, and interpersonal skills Commitment to ethical, culturally responsive, and evidence-based practice Preferred Experience working with couples and relationship concerns Training or experience in one or more of the following modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Internal Family Systems (IFS) Psychodynamic Therapy Attachment-Based Therapy Integrative and Interpersonal Approaches Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Gottman Method Couples Therapy Responsibilities Provide psychotherapy services to adults and couples Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation Collaborate with colleagues through consultation and peer support Participate in biweekly staff consultation meetings Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education opportunities Contribute to a culture of professionalism, inclusivity, and clinical excellence What MPS Offers Flexible scheduling and autonomy in managing your caseload Ability to build a part-time or full-time practice Supportive and collegial community of doctoral-level clinicians Membership in a unique local training consortium with opportunities for advanced clinical learning Regular consultation and case discussion opportunities Exposure to a wide range of clinical presentations and treatment approaches Opportunities to develop and refine specialty areas and clinical expertise Modern office locations in Arlington and Tysons, Virginia Administrative, marketing, billing, and operational support A culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging Our Ideal Candidate We are seeking a clinician who is compassionate, intellectually curious, collaborative, and committed to helping clients create meaningful change.
