Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a meaningful impact this school year by supporting students' academic and emotional growth as an on-site School Psychologist. Based in the vibrant Virginia Beach area, this contract opportunity invites you to be an essential resource for school communities while collaborating with both administrative staff and fellow specialists. The assignment runs from August 31, 2026, to June 15, 2027, with a stable, full-time Monday through Friday schedule and a commitment of 35 hours per week. Your specific caseload and school assignments will be determined based on district needs, allowing you to gain valuable experience across diverse school settings.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Virginia Department of Education (DOE) licensure for School Psychologists Active Psychologist license in Virginia Prior school-based or educational experience is highly regarded Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Passion for supporting the academic, behavioral, and emotional success of students Strong assessment, reporting, and consultation abilities Committed to fully on-site work (no hybrid or remote assignments)
Responsibilities:
Conduct formal and informal assessments to evaluate student learning and developmental needs Develop and interpret individualized plans, including IEPs Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school teams to devise and support intervention strategies Deliver counseling and crisis intervention services as needed Provide expertise in behavioral management, data-driven decision-making, and educational programming Participate actively in eligibility meetings and parent conferences Maintain accurate and timely documentation You'll enjoy meaningful workdays and genuine appreciation while making a lasting difference in the lives of children and families.
