Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as a School Psychologist in the vibrant Virginia Beach area starting this August! This on-site, full-time contract position offers a unique opportunity to serve students in a dynamic academic environment. Working Monday through Friday, you'll provide critical support to students, families, and educators, helping foster safer and more effective schools. Assignment details such as specific number of school sites and caseloads will be shared closer to your start, but expect a supportive team culture with potential for some flexibility in responsibilities.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Current Virginia Department of Education (VA DOE) licensure Active School Psychologist license Experience in school settings preferred, with a passion for supporting students of various age groups Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt to changing caseloads and environments Dedication to ethical practices and student confidentiality
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and interpret results Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop effective intervention strategies Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and multidisciplinary teams Deliver direct and consultative services to students, supporting their academic and emotional growth Provide crisis intervention and guidance on behavioral management as needed Maintain accurate and confidential student records Offer insights on social-emotional learning initiatives and school improvement planning This rewarding contract role runs from August 31, 2026, through June 15, 2027, with a commitment of 35 hours per week on-site.
