Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity where your expertise as a School Psychologist will make a significant impact on student success. This full-time, on-site role is set near the vibrant Washington DC area, and you'll have the chance to serve two schools with a focus on meaningful assessment, consultation, and behavioral support. The assignment runs from August 11, 2026 through May 26, 2027, with hours scheduled from 8:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Key Qualifications:
Active Virginia Department of Education Certification Current Virginia Psychology Licensure Readiness to complete VA Dept. of Social Services background check and TB test (credentialing begins promptly) Solid experience in school psychology, particularly in assessment, Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA), Behavioral Intervention Plan (BIP) support, and consultation Familiarity with, or willingness to engage in, Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Capacity to collaborate effectively with school teams and adapt to varied caseload needs across two schools Strong communication skills for family, staff, and student support
Position Responsibilities:
Complete comprehensive psychological assessments and consult with education teams to guide student interventions Lead and document FBAs/BIPs to promote positive student outcomes Offer MTSS support and collaborate with educators, counselors, and social workers Provide occasional assistance with counseling initiatives as needed Maintain accurate records and participate in student support meetings Your work will foster growth for students and shape a supportive learning atmosphere.
