Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into an engaging full-time opportunity as a School Psychologist in the Washington DC area, just 45 minutes south of the city. This contract runs from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027, and is based on-site—remote or hybrid arrangements are not available. You'll work with two schools, maintaining a Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. schedule for a total of 37.5 hours per week. The primary focus of the role will be assessment and consultation, along with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and occasional Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) collaboration. There may also be times when you'll assist social workers in counseling, although this will be infrequent. Academic achievement testing is not part of this role, as Educational Diagnosticians are available in every building.
Essential Qualifications:
Current, active Virginia Department of Education certification Active licensure as a School Psychologist in Virginia Ability to rapidly initiate the VA Department of Social Services background check and obtain a recent TB test, in line with credentialing requirements Demonstrated experience conducting assessments, providing consultation, and developing FBA/BIP support Strong organizational skills and the flexibility to collaborate across teams What to
