Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a school psychologist in the Winchester, VA area. This contract opportunity runs from July 27th, 2026, through May 28th, 2027, providing essential psychological services to students across a full school year. With a 37.5-hour work week and onsite presence required, you'll be a vital part of a dedicated educational team.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Virginia Psychologist License (VA Psych License) required Previous experience as a school psychologist preferred Strong understanding of assessment tools, special education processes, and student support strategies Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Commitment to ethical standards and professional growth
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations Interpret data to support student learning and behavioral needs Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education programs (IEPs) Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and consultative services Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, helping guide educational planning and intervention Support district initiatives related to mental health and emotional well-being Maintain thorough, timely documentation of services in compliance with local and state regulations
