Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a School Psychologist, providing essential support to students within a dynamic educational environment in the Washington DC area, approximately 45 minutes south of the city. This full-time role runs from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027, and offers the chance to make a direct, positive impact in local schools, supporting students' mental health and educational outcomes on-site—remote and hybrid options are not available for this position. You'll be assigned to two schools, with daily hours from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm and a primary focus on conducting assessments, offering consultation, supporting FBA/BIP interventions, and contributing to MTSS initiatives. Although counseling support for social workers may be required occasionally, academic achievement testing will not be part of your responsibilities, thanks to dedicated Ed Diagnosticians in every building.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Virginia Department of Education Certification required Valid Virginia Psychology License required Completion of the Virginia Department of Social Services background check (must be started immediately upon hiring) Current TB test in compliance with VA requirements Previous school-based experience is highly desirable Strong assessment, consultation, and FBA/BIP support skillsKey Responsibilities:
Conduct psychoeducational assessments and consultations Implement and support Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) Provide MTSS support as needed Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary educational teams Maintain up-to-date documentation in line with district and legal standardsBenefits and Perks:
