Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Full-time School Psychologist opportunities are available on-site near the Washington DC area, serving two schools within a welcoming and collaborative district. In this contract position, you'll work regular hours (8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours weekly) during the academic year from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027. Your focus will be on assessment and consultation, providing crucial FBA/BIP support, and occasionally collaborating with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) teams. While you may provide some counseling support to social workers, you will not be responsible for academic achievement testing, as Educational Diagnosticians are assigned to each building.
Qualifications:
Master's degree or higher in School Psychology Active Virginia DOE Certification Current Virginia Psychology Licensure Ability to complete time-sensitive credentialing, including Virginia Dept. of Social Services background check and TB test Previous experience working in school settings preferred, but open to early-career professionals Strong knowledge and skills in behavioral assessment, consultation, and FBA/BIP processes What you'll do: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and consultations Develop and advise on behavior intervention plans Collaborate with educators and families to support student well-being and progress Participate in and support MTSS as needed Work closely with experienced multidisciplinary teams across elementary and secondary levels This is a vital opportunity to make an impact within a dynamic district, working regular school hours and building relationships with dedicated colleagues.
