Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a specialized role focused on assessment and consultation within an educational setting. This full-time, contract opportunity is ideal for skilled school psychologists eager to make a positive impact with students, faculty, and families, roughly 45 minutes south of Washington, DC. From August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027, you'll be an essential member of the student services team, working on-site each day—virtual and hybrid options are not available. You'll support two schools, with daily hours from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The work primarily involves assessment and consultation services, Functional Behavioral Assessment/Behavior Intervention Plan (FBA/BIP) support, and occasional contributions to the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Academic achievement testing will not be part of your responsibilities, as dedicated educational diagnosticians are present at each site. While collaboration with social workers may be required for counseling support, these occasions will be rare.
Preferred Qualifications and Requirements:
Active Virginia DOE School Psychologist Certification Current Virginia Psychologist Licensure Previous experience conducting school-based psychological assessments and FBA/BIP processes Knowledge of MTSS and consultative support within a K-12 setting Strong collaborative and communication skills Ability to rapidly complete Virginia Department of Social Services background check and
