Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract School psychologists bring vital expertise to support student well-being, and this rewarding contract opportunity offers a chance to make a real difference. Based onsite near Suffolk, VA in the Virginia Beach area, you'll work within a dynamic school environment for the 2026-2027 academic year. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with 35 hours per week and flexibility in school assignment. You'll address a variety of student needs, collaborating with educators, parents, and administrators to foster a positive learning environment. This is an in-person role; virtual and hybrid options are not available. The caseload specifics and school assignments will be discussed prior to your start with the potential to tailor placements based on your strengths.
Key Qualifications:
Current and active Virginia Department of Education (VA DOE) School Psychologist licensure Active license as a Psychologist in Virginia Experience within K-12 school settings as a school psychologist Strong communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families Proficiency in conducting assessments, developing interventions, and offering counseling services to students Adaptability and flexibility, as schools and caseload details will be finalized during the onboarding process
Responsibilities:
Complete psychoeducational assessments and interpret results for eligibility, services, and interventions Collaborate with staff and families to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior interventions Provide counseling and mental health support to students ages and caseload to be confirmed Offer crisis intervention and consultation with educators and families Maintain clear, timely documentation and contribute to team meetings This role offers a supportive atmosphere and the chance to enhance students' success and well-being throughout the academic year.
