Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in educational settings as a school psychologist working with students, families, and staff. This contract opportunity near Waynesboro, VA, is perfect for compassionate professionals dedicated to promoting students' emotional, social, and academic development.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid state licensure or certification as a school psychologist Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a closely related field Experience administering psychoeducational assessments and writing evaluation reports Strong understanding of behavioral interventions and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) Familiarity with IEP development, special education laws, and Section 504 processes Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Previous experience in educational settings is preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to assess student needs and design effective interventions Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational evaluations to support learning, behavior, and mental health Interpret assessment results and provide recommendations for classroom and instructional strategies Participate in eligibility determination meetings and guide IEP or 504 plan development Offer consultation services to teachers and parents regarding student concerns and best practices Provide crisis intervention and support social-emotional learning initiatives within the school community Assist with the implementation of school-wide positive behavior support programs Enjoy the professional satisfaction of making a tangible difference in students' lives while working in a collaborative, school-based environment.
