Immediately Job Description Washington Central Unified Union School District is seeking a dynamic School Psychologist to join our team. This role is responsible for assessing the academic, social, and behavioral domains of students across all grade levels. By merging standardized evaluations with a problem-solving approach, the School Psychologist will support the design of programs and services that maximize student success and foster effective educational environments through collaboration with staff and families. Key Responsibilities-
Assessment & Identification:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations for disabilities including Autism, Emotional Disturbances, and Specific Learning Disabilities.
IEP Team Leadership:
Participate as an active IEP team member, leading problem-solving meetings and contributing to the manifestation determination process if needed.
Behavioral Support:
Conduct classroom observations and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) to help develop and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Evaluation Reporting:
Translate complex data into clear, written reports using statistical concepts like standard scores and percentiles.
Collaborative Consultation:
Partner with outside agencies, parents, and teachers to coordinate services and meet the diverse needs of students.
Trauma-Informed Support:
Utilize training in complex trauma to assist staff in creating supportive, regulated learning environments. Qualifications-
Education:
Master's Degree
Licensure:
Holds, or is eligible to hold, a Vermont License with a School Psychologist endorsement.
Legal Knowledge:
Thorough understanding of state and federal regulations governing the identification of children with disabilities and special education law.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal and written skills; ability to effectively present technical data to parents and administrators.
