Eastmont School Psychologists provides a full range of school psychological services to students in PK-12th grade. Their duties include providing direct support and interventions to students as well as consulting with teachers, families, and other school-employed mental health professionals (i.e., school counselors, school social workers) to improve support strategies. School Psychologists work with administrators to improve school and district practices and policies. They are collaborative members of our schools' multidisciplinary teams which help determine student eligibility for special services and appropriate programming. School Psychologists also work with community providers to coordinate needed services and remove barriers to student achievement.Primary Special Education Responsibilities:
Initial and Re-Evaluations- Responsible for completing necessary assessments, rating scales, observations, interviews, data analysis, and paperwork Special Education Referrals
- Responsible for completing data collection, screenings, observations, and paperwork IEP Student Transfers
- Responsible for reviewing and approving/declining students' previous evaluations/IEPs as well as completing their transfer paperwork Tier 2 & 3 FBAs
- Responsible for completing observations, data collection and analysis, parent/staff interviews, and paperwork for functional behavior assessments Tier 2 & 3 BIPs & ERPs
- Responsible for assisting with development of behavior intervention plans/emergency response protocols and assisting in data collection and graphing Manifestation Determination
- Responsible for tracking suspensions of students with IEPs and completing paperwork Meetings
- Responsible for scheduling and facilitating team meetings for evaluations, referrals, transfers, FBA/BIPs, and MDs Secure Release of Information
- Responsible for communicating with outside agencies as needed for students on caseload
Supporting Students:
Provide consultation and coaching for teachers/staff as needed for student accommodations, interventions, behavior plans, and data collection Advocate for ML students and collaborate with ML team to create support plans and help to complete the ML Matrix when needed Facilitate Tier 2/Tier 3 social skill groups as needed Help school counselor provide individual/group counseling services as applicable Help school counselor make referrals for counseling and other community partner services as needed Collaborate with families and community partner agencies to support students Help with Tier 2/Tier 3 behavior supports Support school's crisis intervention teamAdditional Training and Collaboration:
Attend crisis prevention/intervention training (i.e., Safety Care, Ukeru) in order to provide both de-escalation and restraint support to students and coaching to staff as needed Facilitate Guidance Team (Student Support Team) meetings for Tier 2 & 3 academic and behavioral supports as needed Participate in special education teacher check in meetings Participate in building MTSS data meetings as needed Participate inSchool Psychologist PLCs Qualifications:
Washington State or National (NCSP) Certification as School Psychologist Successful school teaching, counseling, or school psychology experience is desirable Intensive course work in educational guidance, educational testing and measurement, counseling, and psychology of learning Successful experience in special education case management is desirable. Excellent attendance required Bilingual preferred Demonstrates interpersonal relations, communications and problem solving skills Leadership qualities that demonstrate an ability to be innovative, as well as maintain responsible and trusting relationships Exercises confidentiality and displays loyalty and integrity Supports and implements Eastmont School District policies, regulations, procedures, and administrative directives Deals with obstacles, deadlines and constraints positively Prioritizes district, school, and student needs Demonstrates ability to adjust to and use new approaches in the performance of his/her duties Seeks and takes advantage of opportunities for professional growth Promotes good staff morale and works harmoniously and collaboratively with fellow staffMandatory Conditions of Employment:

Ability to promote collaboration and communicate in stressful situations May be required to attend meetings and activities beyond regular work hours. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Ability to regularly walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and occasionally sprint at a rapid speed in pursuit of a student. The duties require significant listening, speaking, writing, and typing. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.Benefits:
