Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity to support elementary students during the fall semester as a School Psychologist for a vibrant K-5 setting located near Tacoma, WA. This full-time, contract position spans from August 24, 2026 through December 18, 2026, providing meaningful engagement with young learners at a pivotal stage in their educational journey. In this role, you'll serve as a trusted partner to teachers, administrators, and families, advocating for students' social, emotional, and academic well-being. You'll draw on your expertise to assess student needs, develop effective interventions, and foster a safe, inclusive school environment that helps every child thrive.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current WA School Psychologist license/certification, or eligibility and willingness to obtain prior to the start date Master's or specialist degree in School Psychology from an accredited program Previous experience working with K-5 or elementary-aged children preferred Strong assessment, consultation, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with educational teams and families Commitment to supporting a positive and inclusive school climate
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct student evaluations, including cognitive, behavioral, and social-emotional assessments Develop intervention plans tailored to individual or group student needs Provide direct counseling, crisis intervention, and support services Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student success Contribute to the development and implementation of IEPs and 504 plans Participate in school-based team meetings and professional development This role empowers you to make a difference, taking part in the academic and emotional growth of elementary students during a significant phase of their schooling.
