$ 53.00/hr. on W2
Job Description:
Uses radiation to treat patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist.
Specific duties include:
Checking patient information. Preparing room and equipment. Communicating with patient. Transferring patient. Performing radiation treatment. Maintaining schedule. Maintaining supplies. Keeping records. Assisting with teaching.
Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge:
Min 2 years of experience. Experience with EMR, treatment delivery, and imaging systems. A developing therapist Producting knowledge and skills with the principles of growth and development of a patient life span, assessing data reflective of patient's status and interpretation of information relative to age-specific needs. Knowledge of medical office operations and medical terminology. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and Outlook.
Job Complexity:
Implements prescription and treatment plan as directed by the Radiation Oncologist. Operates therapeutic equipment, demonstrating proper patient positioning and monitoring of the patient during procedures which are semi-routine in nature. Performs daily equipment warm-up and quality assurance procedures. Accurately completes and charts simulation and treatment summaries, reports and documentations.
Minimum Required Certifications and Training:
Graduation from an AART approved program in Radiation Therapy Technology.
Supervision:
Normally follows established procedures on day-to-day work. AART Certification. Valid CPR certification. Maintains registration in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the state licensing authority of the state which the clinic is located.
Typical Education and Experience:
Associate degree or bachelor's degree in radiation therapy or related field. Graduation from an AART approved program in Radiation Therapy Technology. AART Certification. Valid CPR certification. 2-3 years of work experience as a certified/licensed radiation therapist.
