City of Hope's growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and treatment facilities in Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix. our dedicated and compassionate employees are driven by a common mission: To deliver the cures of tomorrow to the people who need them today.Join our team as a Radiation Therapist I/II, where you will play a vital role in delivering radiation therapy to patients according to physician prescriptions and established standards! Your responsibilities may include a range of procedures, such as IMRT, SRS, SBRT, TBI, TBE, High Dose Rate Brachytherapy, and CT-based simulations. In addition to patient care, you will provide clinical instruction to students, contributing to their education and development in the field. As for our equipment, we utilize a Varian 2100iX with onboard imager/cone beam CT. Join us in providing exceptional care to our patients and mentoring the next generation of radiation therapists!
As a successful candidate, you will:
Deliver a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients of all ages.
Reinforce recommendations given to patient by healthcare professional concerning reaction to treatment and care of radiated area, prevention, or treatment of generalized and local side effectsPerform simulation procedures as prescribed by physician and assist in dosimetry proceduresPerform daily quality assurance checks on linear accelerators, reporting any variation in morning warm-up. Reports improper equipment operation to appropriate personnelYour qualifications should include:
High School or equivalent; Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training in an accredited Radiation Therapy Education ProgramGraduate of an accredited radiologic technology course plus radiation therapy course OR Graduate of an accredited Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy ProgramLicensed by the California State Department of Health (Certified in Radiation Therapy)Certification by the ARRT - in
