Category Radiation Therapy - Radiation Therapist Job Type Per Diem A highly respected Radiation Oncology department is seeking a capable and compassionate Radiation Therapist for a per diem opportunity. This as-needed role is ideal for professionals who value flexibility and thrive in a team-oriented, patient-centered environment. The position offers the chance to deliver high-quality care during staffing fluctuations, including vacations, leaves of absence, and times of increased patient volume. New graduates are welcome and will benefit from dedicated mentorship aimed at fostering early-career success. Schedule PRN / Per Diem status Flexible, on-call shifts with no guaranteed hours Schedule based on departmental needs (vacations, absences, staffing shortages, census changes) Candidates with open availability are strongly preferred Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy program Current California Radiation Therapist licensure or eligibility to obtain before start ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy [RT(T)] or eligibility to obtain Current BLS certification or ability to secure upon hire Strong communication and interpersonal skills Capacity to work independently and adapt to dynamic schedules Preferred Experience Prior exposure to Varian and/or Accuray treatment systems Clinical experience in a radiation oncology setting Key Responsibilities Administer prescribed radiation treatments with precision and empathy under physician direction Operate and maintain Varian and Accuray radiation therapy equipment Verify patient identity and treatment parameters prior to each session Monitor and support patients during treatment, addressing concerns or changes promptly Document all treatment delivery accurately, ensuring up-to-date patient records Collaborate with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, and nursing staff to optimize patient care Uphold all radiation safety and regulatory protocols Engage in continuous quality assurance and professional development activities Take the next step in your career and contribute to a collaborative team dedicated to patient well-being.
