Job Description

Category Radiation Therapy - Radiation Therapist Job Type Per Diem A dedicated Radiation Oncology department seeks a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to provide per diem coverage. As a valued member of our care team, you will play a vital role in supporting patients through their treatment journeys, stepping in during staff vacations, leaves of absence, staffing fluctuations, and increased patient volume. This is a per diem (PRN) opportunity—hours are not guaranteed and scheduling will vary based on departmental needs. New graduates are welcome and mentorship is available. Schedule Per Diem / PRN On-call and scheduled as needed No guaranteed hours Requires flexibility to provide coverage for staffing shortages, vacations, leaves, and variable patient volume Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program Current California Radiation Therapist license or eligibility to obtain by start date ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy [RT(T)] or eligibility to obtain Current BLS certification or ability to secure upon hire Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules
Preferred:
Familiarity with Varian and/or Accuray treatment systems; prior clinical experience in a radiation oncology environment Responsibilities Deliver accurate and safe radiation treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist Operate and maintain Varian Linear Accelerators and Accuray Radiation Therapy Systems Verify patient identity and treatment parameters for each session Observe patients during procedures and respond appropriately to concerns or changes Maintain accurate documentation of all treatments and activities Collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary oncology team to ensure high standards of care Follow all safety and regulatory guidelines for radiation therapy Participate in departmental quality assurance and continuing education activities If you are seeking a flexible opportunity to gain valuable experience and contribute to exceptional patient care in a supportive environment, apply today to advance your career in Radiation Therapy.
