Category Radiation Therapy - Radiation Therapist Job Type Per Diem Delivering high-quality cancer care demands expertise and empathy at every step. As a skilled Radiation Therapist, you'll play a crucial role in patient treatment within a dynamic Radiation Oncology department. This per diem opportunity is tailored for individuals eager to provide exceptional care on an as-needed basis, including coverage for staffing gaps, vacations, leaves of absence, and variable patient volume. Although hours are not guaranteed, your work will contribute directly to maintaining seamless patient services. Schedule PRN / Per Diem On-call and scheduled as needed No guaranteed hours; flexibility to cover vacations, sick leave, and volume surges Key Responsibilities Accurately and safely deliver prescribed radiation treatments under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist Operate, calibrate, and maintain Varian and Accuray radiation therapy equipment Verify patient identity and treatment details before each session Monitor patients during procedures and address any concerning symptoms or changes Thoroughly document each treatment and maintain accurate, timely records Collaborate closely with physicians, dosimetrists, physicists, nurses, and allied team members to ensure comprehensive patient care Adhere to regulatory and radiation safety standards at all times Engage in continuing education and departmental quality assurance efforts as needed Qualifications Graduated from an accredited Radiation Therapy program Active California Radiation Therapist license or eligibility before starting ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy [RT(T)] or eligible to obtain Current BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Excellent communication, adaptability, and interpersonal skills Comfortable working independently with variable schedules Preferred Experience with Varian and/or Accuray systems Clinical experience in a radiation oncology environment New graduates are encouraged to pursue this opportunity, with built-in mentorship and professional development support.
