1 Description American Traveler seeks a Radiation Safety Coordinator with a Bachelor's degree in Physical or Biological Sciences and 5+ years of experience in a university hospital radiation safety program for a 13-week travel contract at an academic hospital in Washington, D.C. Details Full-time position at an academic university hospital Radiation Safety Office Monday through Friday schedule, 5 x 8-hour shifts per week 40 hours per week, 13-week contract Requirements Bachelor's degree in Physical or Biological Sciences required Minimum of 5 years of experience in a university hospital radiation safety program under a broad-scope license required Minimum of 2 years of prior U.S. hospital work experience in the specialty area Active license required (no pending licensure accepted); license required if applicable AHA certifications required (no other certification equivalents accepted) CPI certification is mandated for this position Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer/keyboard skills required Strong verbal and written communication skills required Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently with reliable judgment U.S. Social Security Number required for consideration Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer Date of birth required for consideration Additional Information Perform critical functions of the Radiation Safety Office in accordance with U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations and internal Radiation Safety Office policies Independent judgment is frequently required on critical assignments Candidates must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates Local candidates are not eligible for this position
