Technical Proficiency Teaching Full Job Description Position Highlights:
The Radiation Therapist Supervisor supervises the day to day functions and activities of the Radiation Therapy department staff including lead and staff therapist to ensure efficient and effective operations and quality patient care. The Radiation Therapist Supervisor may perform a variety of clinical procedures including, but not limited to, treatment delivery and performing simulation procedures. The Radiation Therapist Supervisors coordinate to ensure standards and policies are consistent amongst all locations. The Radiation Therapy Supervisor is a critical leadership role responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations of the Radiation Therapy Department. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of radiation therapy treatments and technology, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients battling cancer. The supervisor leads a team of lead, senior and staff radiation therapists to foster an environment of continuous learning while ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. They also act as a liaison between the department and other medical professionals, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the hospital's cancer treatment program. This role demands excellent managerial skills, strong technical proficiency, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
The Ideal Candidate:
Has previous supervisory experience. Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Oversees lead therapist(s) and staff therapist(s), provides support and guidance for technical billing accuracy, responds to technical issues, ensures proper staffing levels to safely treat patients, ensures appropriate inventory supplies, triages patient phone calls, provides faculty with information related to patient treatment. Supports manager with team member evaluations and makes recommendations regarding performance issues and recruitment and selection of new technical staff. Assists manager with important technical communication and administrative support as needed. Serves as a role model and mentor to staff therapist. Performs various radiation therapy procedures and treatments.
Credentials and Qualifications:
Associate degree in Radiation Therapy required. Basic Life Support (BLS) BLS RT(T) ARRT - Radiation Therapy CRT in the state of Florida 5 years previous experience as a lead therapist, therapy supervisor or 5 years proven leadership experience in a radiation therapy setting. Minimum Skills/Specialized Training Required The ability to effectively teach and mentor radiation therapists. Active listening skills to understand the mentee's concerns and aspirations. The ability to provide constructive feedback to aid in the mentee's professional development. The ability to convey information clearly and concisely. This candidate is well-versed in the procedures of this therapy department. They will be creative, innovative and have a strong desire to grow.
