Work Shift Various (United States of America) Responsible for performing the accurate delivery of prescribed ionizing therapeutic radiation under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist, using a variety of complex techniques and equipment. Shares and coordinates key information through documentation and oral communication, with other members of the healthcare team. Ensures the ability to obtain and interpret information while considering each patients specific needs.
Position Requirements:
Associate degree ; must have completed a course of study in an accredited radiation therapy technology program or graduate from a JCERT Radiation Therapy Program and 1 year or more of experience in Radiation Therapy, unless a graduate of Augusta Universitys Radiation Therapy Program. Additional years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of minimum education requirement. Knowledge of ionizing radiation and its application to humans. Knowledge of radiation safety. Excellent communication skills with staff, patients, and family. Ability to multi-task. Computer skills. Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS).
