Minimum 2 years' experience in Radiation Therapy preferred. Must be graduate of accredited radiation therapy program Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Radiation Therapist specializing in Oncology, where you will play a vital role in delivering precise and compassionate cancer treatment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide state-of-the-art radiation therapy, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. You will utilize advanced imaging and treatment planning tools, including computed tomography (CT), to target tumors accurately while minimizing exposure to healthy tissue. Your expertise in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology will be essential in developing and executing individualized treatment plans that meet the highest standards of care. Duties Administer radiation treatments to oncology patients using specialized equipment such as linear accelerators, ensuring adherence to prescribed doses and safety protocols Operate advanced imaging modalities, including CT scans, to accurately locate tumor sites and assist in precise treatment planning Collaborate with oncologists, radiologists, and medical physicists to develop tailored treatment strategies based on detailed anatomy and physiology assessments Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions, providing critical care support when needed and adjusting treatments accordingly Maintain comprehensive documentation of treatment procedures, patient progress, and any adverse reactions using medical terminology and detailed records Educate patients about their treatment process, addressing concerns related to radiation therapy and medical imaging procedures like mammography Ensure compliance with all safety standards related to radiation exposure, acute care protocols, and infection control measures Experience Proven experience in radiation therapy within an oncology setting, demonstrating proficiency with medical imaging techniques such as CT scans and mammography Critical care experience is highly desirable, showcasing your ability to manage acute patient needs effectively during complex treatments Strong knowledge of physiology and human anatomy to accurately interpret imaging data and optimize treatment delivery Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to oncology and radiation therapy procedures Prior exposure to acute care environments or medical imaging departments enhances your ability to respond swiftly in high-pressure situations Certification or training in radiation therapy techniques from accredited programs is required; additional experience with mammography or other specialized imaging modalities is a plus Embark on a rewarding career where your skills directly impact patients' lives through innovative cancer treatments.
