Overview UnityPoint Health- Fort Dodge, IA FTE:
.8 FTE (32 hours per week)Shifts:
Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm $10,000 SIGN-ON BONUS The radiation therapist is part of a multidisciplinary cancer team. Under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist the therapist delivers the radiation plans by the use of a linear accelerator. Responsibilities Interpret and implement treatment plans as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist Monitor patient response to therapy and evaluate progress toward desired outcomes Educate patients on procedures, side effects, skin care, and nutrition Observe and assess patients for physical and emotional changes during treatment Perform simulation procedures and prepare immobilization devices Safely operate radiation therapy equipment, ensuring accurate patient positioning and monitoring Identify and report equipment issues; perform quality assurance and follow safety protocols Document all simulations, treatments, and patient interactions accurately Withhold treatment when necessary and coordinate with care team for appropriate interventionQualifications Education:
Graduate of accredited school of Radiation Therapy.Experience:
Minimum of 1 years' experience as a staff therapist. Current knowledge of appropriate clinical practice, radiation protection and quality assurance, patient management and care, charges, basic dosimetry and equipment. License(s)/Certification(s): Registered in Radiation Therapy by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensed by the State of Iowa.Similar jobs in Fort Dodge, IA
