Role:
Quincy Medical Group is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Radiation Therapist to join our oncology team. In this role, you will deliver prescribed radiation treatments and perform planning CT simulations while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accuracy at every step. This position plays a critical role in the patient care journey, requiring strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to provide compassionate support to patients undergoing cancer treatment. You will work closely with providers, physicists, and the broader care team to ensure high-quality treatment delivery and compliance with all safety standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Radiation Therapist performs planning CT simulations using proper positioning, immobilization, and marking techniques to ensure accurate and reproducible treatments. You will deliver prescribed radiation therapy with precision, verifying patient identity, treatment parameters, and provider orders prior to each session. Responsibilities include preparing treatment rooms and equipment, maintaining patient communication throughout procedures, and monitoring patients for side effects or concerns, reporting findings to the provider as needed. You will assist with tumor localization, dosimetry support, and contrast studies, while ensuring adherence to radiation safety standards for patients and staff. This role also includes maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, supporting scheduling and workflow coordination, performing daily quality assurance checks on treatment machines and CT simulators, and identifying and reporting equipment issues. You will contribute to chart checks, billing accuracy, and compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards while helping maintain a high level of patient care throughout the treatment process.               Qualifications:
              • Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiology program and a Radiation Therapy program required
              • ARRT registration in Radiation Therapy required
              • Current Illinois license required
              • Current BLS/CPR certification required
              • 6-12 months of Radiation Therapy experience preferred (student clinical rotations accepted)
              • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
              • Ability to work effectively in a team-based clinical environment
