$20,000 Sign-On Bonus Available Radiation Therapist - Registered - SMH Regional Cancer Center Ochsner Health | Full-Time | Oncology / Radiation Therapy Join Ochsner Health in the Northshore region — we're seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to support our oncology team at the SMH Regional Cancer Center in Slidell. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in delivering life-saving cancer treatment in a patient-centered, collaborative environment. About the
Role:
The Radiation Therapist administers ionizing radiation treatments to oncology patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. This role is vital in ensuring safe, accurate, and compassionate delivery of radiation therapy while maintaining compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. [careers.ochsner.org] You will maintain accurate treatment records, process orders for exams required during treatment, and act as a liaison between physicians, patients, and their families. Additionally, you will monitor patients for any adverse reactions throughout therapy and provide care tailored to each patient's physical and psychosocial needs. [careers.ochsner.org] This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and compassionate professional who is passionate about oncology care and delivering high-quality treatment in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy Technology (required). No prior experience required; experience with fabrication of contours, cases, and patient immobilization devices preferred. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 90 days of hire (required). Licensed in the state of practice by the Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners within 90 days of hire (required). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required). Strong computer skills and proficiency with Windows-based systems and clinical software.
